Mother and Child Found Deceased in Parked Vehicle After Missing Person Report in Beaumont

On Saturday, February 10, 2024, at approximately 2:55 PM, Beaumont Officers responded to a missing person report called in by a man in Houston. The caller reported that Briana Monroe, the 26-year-old mother of his 1-year-old son, was missing along with the child. He stated that Monroe had sent a text indicating her intention to harm the child and herself. Despite efforts by family members to reach her, they were unable to make contact.

Given the seriousness of the situation, the report was classified as Critical Missing. Investigators immediately commenced gathering information and initiating a search for the mother and child. However, before any breakthroughs could be made, family members notified officers that they had located Monroe’s gray 2019 Volkswagen Jetta at Perlstein Park, specifically in the 800 block of Landis.

Upon locating the vehicle, authorities discovered both Monroe and the baby, Giavon August, deceased inside. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding their deaths is ongoing.
