Montgomery County VICE Unit Busts Two Massage Businesses in Human Trafficking Probe

On August 6, 2025, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Organized Crime Division (VICE unit) executed search and arrest warrants at Pure Massage in Sawdust Springs and Zen Massage in Conroe following a multi-month investigation into illicit sexual services and possible human trafficking.

The long-term probe, conducted with the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, uncovered evidence that workers at both establishments were performing illegal sexual acts.

Jeffrey Basset, 66, and Gailing Guo, 55, were arrested on site and charged with Aggravated Promotion of Prostitution, a first-degree felony.

The investigation began amid growing concerns about human trafficking and illicit sexual activity linked to massage businesses in the region. Authorities continue to investigate possible related crimes and whether any workers may be victims of trafficking through coercion or manipulation.

Multiple area agencies are collaborating to address this ongoing issue in Montgomery County.
