Montgomery County Teen Arrested After Drug Deal Dispute Ends in Shooting

On December 4, 2024, at approximately 1:30 a.m., Montgomery County deputies were dispatched to a local emergency room after a 40-year-old man was admitted with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

Investigators determined that the shooting stemmed from an altercation over a narcotics transaction. Homicide and Violent Crimes Detectives, along with Crime Scene Investigators, arrived to lead the investigation.

District 3 Patrol units quickly identified the suspect as 18-year-old Jason Andrew Knight of Porter. With assistance from the Montgomery County Constable’s Precinct 4, deputies located and arrested Knight at his residence.

Knight has been charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and is currently being held at the Montgomery County Jail. The victim, a New Caney resident, is in stable condition at a local hospital. The investigation remains ongoing.
