Montgomery County SWAT, U.S. Marshals Arrest Two Violent Fugitives in Back-to-Back Operations

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas – Two wanted fugitives facing serious felony charges were taken into custody in separate operations by Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office SWAT operators working as deputized Task Force Officers with the United States Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force.

On January 30, 2026, SWAT operators arrested Erik Eugene Olszewki, 36, on a warrant for Assault Family Violence involving strangulation and impeding breath or circulation, along with an active parole warrant. Olszewki was taken into custody without incident.

Just days later, on February 2, 2026, the same SWAT team was back in action, arresting Joshua Aaron Willard, 32, who was wanted on two felony warrants out of Montgomery County. Willard was charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Assault Family Violence involving strangulation and impeding breath or circulation.

Both arrests were carried out safely, with no injuries reported. Olszewski and Willard were transported to the Montgomery County Jail, where they remain in custody.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office praised the efforts of its SWAT operators, highlighting their precision and commitment to public safety.

“These arrests reflect the high level of training and professionalism of our SWAT team,” the Sheriff’s Office stated. “They also underscore the strength of our long-standing partnership with the United States Marshals Service, which for more than a decade has helped ensure violent fugitives are located and brought to justice.”
