Montgomery County Sheriff’s Sergeant Injured in Rear-End Crash on Highway 249

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX – On Tuesday morning, October 28, 2025, a Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant was injured when a distracted driver rear-ended the Sergeant’s marked patrol vehicle on Highway 249.
The patrol vehicle had its emergency lights activated while officers were managing a traffic hazard caused by a stalled vehicle in the main lanes. The Sergeant was inside at the time of the collision. Both the Sergeant and the driver were transported to local hospitals for treatment. The Sergeant is currently in stable condition.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the incident. Sheriff Doolittle expressed support for the injured officer and his family, emphasizing the importance of moving over and slowing down for emergency vehicles.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with our Sergeant and his family,” Sheriff Doolittle said. “This incident serves as a powerful reminder of the dangers our deputies face daily while serving the public.”
Multiple agencies assisted at the scene, including the Montgomery County Hospital District, Tomball Police Department, Texas DPS, and several precinct constables.
