Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) Deputy Landon Slatter, 42, was arrested on March 3, 2025, on charges of Sexual Assault of a Child.

Detectives with the Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constable’s Office, assigned to the Internet Crimes Against Children (I.C.A.C.) Task Force, conducted the investigation into allegations against Slatter, a 15-year employee of the Sheriff’s Office.

Based on the investigation, detectives obtained an arrest warrant. Slatter was arrested at the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday morning. Following the arrest, he resigned from his position. He was then booked into the Montgomery County Jail.

Sheriff Wesley Doolittle released a statement emphasizing the agency’s commitment to transparency, integrity, and accountability:

“Upholding the trust and safety of our community is not just a responsibility, it is a duty we take seriously. The actions of one individual do not define the dedication and integrity of the men and women who serve honorably in this agency. Service means protecting our community, especially the most vulnerable. Teamwork means working alongside our law enforcement partners to uphold justice. Accountability means ensuring that no one is above the law, and Respect means holding ourselves to the highest ethical standards. When trust is broken, we will act swiftly and decisively. We remain fully committed to transparency, justice, and cooperation with our partners in this investigation.”

Details on Investigation

In January, 2025, the Montgomery County Pct. 3 Constable’s Office was alerted by a concerned parent about their 17-year-old son being sexually abused and exploited by several adult males he had met through social media platforms. The alleged abuse and exploitation reportedly began when the victim was around 14 or 15 years old. A detective from the Pct. 3 Human Trafficking Unit launched an investigation uncovering evidence that Slatter had communicated with the victim while he was still under 17 and had solicited a sexual encounter. At that time, it was discovered that Slatter was employed as a Deputy Sheriff with the MCSO.

Once learning of Slatter’s employment, the Constable’s Office alerted the MCSO and they began assisting in the investigation. That lead to the arrest of Slatter.
