Montgomery County Deputies Arrest Suspect After High-Speed Theft Pursuit

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas – A theft suspect was arrested Sunday afternoon following a high-speed pursuit that began at the Ulta Beauty store in the Valley Ranch shopping center.
At approximately 4:00 p.m. on October 12, store management reported a male suspect concealing items and fleeing in a blue BMW. Deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office located the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop, but the suspect refused to stop, prompting a pursuit along US Highway 59. Officers from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Precinct 4 Constable’s Office, and the Texas Department of Public Safety joined the chase.
The pursuit ended in the 23000 block of the US 59 feeder road when DPS troopers successfully used a Pursuit Intervention Technique (PIT) to stop the vehicle. The suspect, identified as 31-year-old Stephen Price of Houston, TX, was taken into custody and charged with theft and felony evading. Authorities recovered stolen merchandise from Ulta Beauty, as well as additional items linked to Price from previous retail theft incidents in The Woodlands and New Caney.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office credited the coordinated response between agencies for the successful apprehension.
