Meth Seized After Interstate 10 Chase in El Paso County; Driver Caught

Cesar Alfredo Galindo, 44, was arrested on July 5, 2025, after leading deputies on a vehicle pursuit through several cities and being found in possession of over a pound of methamphetamine. The arrest was part of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office’s Safe Streets Operation.
Deputies attempted a traffic stop on Galindo’s green Saturn passenger vehicle in the 700 block of Horizon Blvd for defective equipment. Galindo failed to comply and continued driving through the cities of Socorro, Clint, and Fabens in an attempt to evade deputies.
The chase ended in a desert area near S. Fabens-Carlsbad Road and Hacienda Road, where Galindo was taken into custody without incident. Deputies subsequently discovered approximately 1.1 pounds of methamphetamine in his possession. The estimated street value of the seized methamphetamine is $5,500, which could produce over 150 dosage units.
Galindo was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility and charged with Evading Arrest/Detention with a Vehicle and Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 ≥400g. His bonds currently total $80,000.
“Let this be a message to anyone thinking about running from law enforcement—if you evade from our deputies, you will be caught,” said Sheriff Oscar Ugarte. “Our Safe Streets Operation was found to be successful, and we’re committed to keeping drugs and criminals off our streets.”
