Manhunt Underway: Cameron County Authorities Seek Public Help in Capturing Double Homicide Suspects
On January 27, 2024, Deputies responded to the 6800 block of Greystone in Brownsville on reports of shots fired and subjects on the ground. Upon arrival, deputies discovered the lifeless bodies of Hidalgo County residents Joe Santiago Sanchez and Eduardo Alamillo, both victims of multiple gunshots.
Promptly launching an investigation, Sheriff’s Investigators worked tirelessly to piece together the events. On January 29, 2024, following statements from witnesses and the analysis of surveillance footage and other collected evidence, authorities identified the alleged perpetrators as brothers, Odilon and Enrique Gutierrez, residents of Brownsville, Texas.
By January 30, 2024, Warrants of Arrest were issued for the Gutierrez brothers, charging them with Capital Murder of multiple persons. The suspects reportedly fled the scene in a 2018-2020 model light gray or silver 4-door Ford F-150. Investigators believe the brothers may have crossed the border into Mexico after committing the heinous crime.
In a proactive move, Sheriff’s Investigators executed a Search Warrant at the suspects’ residence in Brownsville earlier today, aiming to uncover any evidence related to the crime or the fugitives’ whereabouts.
The Cameron County Sheriff’s Office is now reaching out to the public for assistance in locating the Gutierrez brothers.
