Man Found Dead at Howard County Fair Grounds in Big Spring, TX; Possible Dog Attack
On December 19, 2023, at around 8:45 a.m., Big Spring Police Officers responded to a report of a deceased male at the Howard County Fair Grounds property in the 2900 block of Old Hwy 80, Big Spring, Texas. Upon arrival, officers discovered a group of dogs fleeing from the area where the male subject was found.
A preliminary investigation has been initiated, but the cause of death remains unknown at this time. However, there is evidence suggesting animal predation. To determine the exact circumstances, an autopsy has been ordered by the Justice of the Peace.
In response to the incident, Big Spring Animal Control has taken steps to identify, locate, and seize two of the dogs believed to be involved. The next of kin has been notified.
The Big Spring Police Department is actively investigating the situation.
