Man Found Dead After House Fire on Willow Lake Drive in West Houston

Houston police are investigating the death of a man found after a house fire at 2315 Willow Lake Drive.

The Houston Fire Department responded to the fire at about 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 3. Firefighters found a body inside the residence. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The deceased has been identified as David Smith, 81.

According to HPD Homicide Division Detectives A. Graf and E. Torres, a preliminary investigation found no signs of foul play or trauma. The cause of death is pending autopsy results.

The Houston Fire Department Arson Division is investigating the cause of the fire.
