Man Fatally Shot in Houston; Suspects, Motive Unknown

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 26-year-old man that occurred on Monday, June 9, 2025, at approximately 10 p.m. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification to family by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant K. Meek and Detective A. Hernandez reported that officers initially responded to a call of a “person down” at 2901 Elmside Drive. Upon arrival, they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene.
Further investigation revealed the shooting originated in a business parking lot at 9834 Meadowglen Lane. Witnesses reported seeing a black Chevrolet pickup truck driving through the parking lot and firing shots at the victim and a female. Both individuals fled on foot, with the male collapsing on Elmside Drive. The Chevrolet pickup was last seen fleeing northbound on Elmside Drive.
At this time, authorities have not identified a motive or suspect(s) in the shooting.
