Man Fatally Shot at Veterans Memorial Drive Gas Station Sparks Intensive Homicide Probe

Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide investigators were called to a business parking lot at 10475 Veterans Memorial Drive early Sunday morning, February 25, 2024, following reports of a shooting incident. Another scene unfolded at Houston Northwest Hospital on 17299 Cali Drive, where the victim had been transported.

The investigation began when patrol deputies responded to a Chevron gas station parking lot off Veterans Memorial Drive, following a distress call reporting a person in need of medical attention due to a gunshot wound to the chest. Upon arrival, authorities found the victim seated in the driver’s seat of a black car. Despite efforts to save him, the victim succumbed to his injuries after being transported to Houston Northwest Hospital. The vehicle was subsequently towed from the scene for further examination.

Homicide investigators conducted interviews with witnesses and searched for surveillance footage, while Crime Scene deputies processed the area for evidence. As of now, the precise location of the shooting remains undetermined, and no suspects have been identified. The investigation is ongoing, with the next of kin of the victim notified.
