Man Fatally Shoots Wife and Son Before Taking Own Life in Katy Apartment

Three people are dead following a suspected double murder-suicide at an apartment complex in Katy on Saturday, June 7, 2025, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to the scene at 20110 Park Row Drive, near South Fry Road, after receiving reports of a shooting at approximately 9:41 am. Upon arrival, they discovered an adult female and a young boy deceased inside the residence. A wounded adult male was also located and airlifted to a hospital by LifeFlight, where he was later pronounced dead.

Sheriff Ed Gonzalez stated that initial findings indicate the 42-year-old man fatally shot his 43-year-old wife and 7-year-old son before turning the weapon on himself. The child was found deceased in his bedroom. A pistol was recovered at the scene. The 19-year-old daughter and her boyfriend where also inside the apartment in her bedroom during the incident. They were unharmed.

According to a family member, the man had recently been struggling with depression related to unemployment and other personal issues.

The investigation is ongoing.
