Man Arrested in El Paso County Bloody Road Rage Assault and Carjacking

EL PASO COUNTY, Texas — A 20 year old man has been arrested in connection with a road rage assault and vehicle theft that left a victim hospitalized earlier this year, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies originally responded on Jan. 11, 2026, to the intersection of Greg Road and Desert Meadows Road after receiving a report of a man covered in blood. When deputies arrived, they learned the victim had been assaulted by multiple suspects following a road rage incident.
Authorities said the suspects attacked the victim and then stole his vehicle before fleeing the area. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
During the investigation, detectives identified one of the suspects as Cristian Garay, 20. Investigators obtained an arrest warrant charging Garay with Aggravated Robbery, and a bond was set at $45,000.
On March 6th, deputies located Garay in the 3500 block of Gajeske Avenue and arrested him without incident. He was transported to the El Paso County Detention Facility and booked on the outstanding warrant.
The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with additional information about the case is encouraged to contact the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office or submit tips anonymously through Crime Stoppers of El Paso.
