Man Arrested for Murder of Woman in Midland County; Immigration Detainer Issued

Aldo Isaac Aranda-Cortez, 47, has been arrested for the murder of 44-year-old Hilda Belloc Aranda.

On February 23, 2025, the Midland County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a gunshot victim in the 2600 block of WCR 123. Hilda Belloc Aranda later died from her injuries.

Following an investigation, the Midland County Sheriff’s Office CID identified Aldo Isaac Aranda-Cortez as the suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest on murder charges.

On February 25, 2025, investigators located Aranda-Cortez in the 1300 block of N. Lamesa in Martin County, Texas. He was taken into custody without incident.

Aranda-Cortez, who was found to be an illegal immigrant, has been booked into the Midland County Central Detention Center on murder charges and an immigration detainer.

The investigation is ongoing.
