Man Arrested for Assault and Strangulation in Magnolia Home

On Thursday, June 12, 2025, at approximately 4:34 a.m., deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an assault in progress at a residence in the North Grove Subdivision near FM 2978 in Magnolia, Texas.

Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the victim, who stated she had been assaulted, strangled, and threatened by her fiancé, 33-year-old Jimmie Ward. Following the investigation and victim statements, Ward was taken into custody without further incident.

Ward was transported to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Jail and booked on charges of Assault Family Violence Impeding Breath/Circulation, a third-degree felony under Texas law. An Emergency Protective Order was filed at the victim’s request to ensure her safety.
