Lubbock Police Asking for Public’s Help Identifying Murder Suspect of Early September Shooting
The Metropolitan Special Crimes Unit is asking for the public’s help identifying and locating a suspect in connection to a shooting in early September.
Lubbock Police were called to an apartment complex on September 9, 2023, at 4:32 pm, in the 1800 block of 14th Street. Upon arrival, officers located 42-year-old Jesus Antonio Lopez Jr. with a gunshot wound. He was transported to University Medical Center via ambulance with serious injuries.
Lopez Jr. succumbed to his injuries on September 18 at around 4:45 pm. The investigation which was being led by the Lubbock Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit is now being investigated by the Metropolitan Special Crimes Unit.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Line at 806-741-1000. Those with information leading to an arrest could be eligible for a reward.
