Leander Police Investigate Threats Against Wiley Middle School

The Leander Police Department is investigating two separate threats made against Knox Wiley Middle School on Sunday, February 23, 2025.

Between 12:30 PM and 1:30 PM, police received reports of a bomb threat from an unknown caller with a blocked number, and a separate report of a planned school shooting for Monday, February 24, 2025.

Working with Leander ISD staff, officers identified two juvenile persons of interest, one local and one from another Texas county. Both individuals and their families have been contacted as part of the ongoing criminal investigation.

The juveniles claimed the phone calls were a prank and denied any intention of violence.

While Leander police currently believe there is no ongoing threat to Wiley Middle School or other schools, additional officers have been deployed to the vicinity of Wiley Middle School as a precautionary measure.

Due to the involvement of juveniles and the active investigation, their identities are being withheld.
