League City Police Arrest Two in Storage Unit Burglary and Drug Trafficking Case

League City Police Department (LCPD) detectives, with assistance from the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office Organized Crime Task Force (OCTF) and the Dickinson Police Department, have arrested Paul Hopkins III of Dickinson and Melissa Carlson of Pearland in connection with a series of storage unit burglaries and drug trafficking activities.
Hopkins faces multiple charges, including Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 (200g-400g) with a $250,000 bond, two counts of Burglary of a Building with bonds of $75,000 and $50,000, and Fraudulent Use/Possession of Identifying Information involving 10 to 50 items with a $75,000 bond. Carlson was charged with Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 (200g-400g) and is being held on a $250,000 bond.
The investigation began with several burglaries at a storage facility in the 500 block of W FM 646 in League City. On November 14, detectives, along with the Galveston County OCTF and Dickinson Police, executed a search warrant at a residence in the 5000 block of Bayou Drive in Dickinson. The search uncovered a significant quantity of narcotics and several thousand dollars’ worth of stolen property. Both suspects were arrested at the scene and transported to the League City Jail.
A follow-up search warrant was executed on November 26 at the same storage facility, leading to the recovery of additional stolen property. Detectives filled a U-Haul truck with the recovered items, which were subsequently returned to the victims.
The League City Police Department commended its detectives and evidence team for their dedication and thorough investigative work in solving the case. They also expressed gratitude to Public Storage Manager Derrill Hicks for his assistance, as well as to the Galveston County OCTF and Dickinson Police Department for their support in the operation.
