Late Evening Shooting at Bateswood Manor Apartments in West Houston

On January 5, 2024, at approximately 8:35 pm, Houston Police Officers responded to a shooting incident at the Bateswood Manor Apartments located at 788 Bateswood Drive in West Houston. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim outside one of the apartments, having sustained gunshot wounds.

Paramedics promptly transported the injured individual to the hospital. According to medical professionals, the victim is anticipated to survive and undergo a successful recovery after receiving treatment. Detectives on the scene determined that the assailant was known to the victim.

The suspect, identified as 37-year-old Joe Moses Rodriguez, was apprehended at the location by law enforcement. Rodriguez was subsequently taken into custody and transported to the Harris County Jail. He now faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in connection to the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
