Juveniles Identified in Grass Fire at Bear Branch Reservoir in The Woodlands

On January 25, 2025, the Woodlands Fire Department quickly responded to a grass fire in the Bear Branch Reservoir area. The fire, which was slow-moving, was successfully extinguished without causing any damage to property.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office initially took the report of the incident and later collaborated with the Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office to investigate the cause of the fire. Through their investigation, authorities identified the juveniles responsible for the incident.

Meetings were held with the parents of the juveniles involved, and the Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office conducted a thorough scene examination. The investigation concluded that the fire was accidental in nature.

Since no property damage occurred, the juveniles involved have been issued Criminal Trespass Warnings. The investigation has been closed, and no criminal charges will be filed.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office thanked the community for their concern and cooperation in resolving the matter swiftly, reaffirming their commitment to public safety.
