Judge Orders Brady Sex Offender to Serve 50 Consecutive Years for Assaulting Children
Robert Allan Corbell

KIMBLE COUNTY, Texas – A 74-year-old Brady, Texas man, Robert Allan Corbell, was sentenced to 50 years in prison last week after pleading guilty to two counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child in the 452nd District Court.

Judge Robert Hofmann formally imposed the sentence on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, ordering Corbell to serve two consecutive 25-year terms in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ).

Investigation and Evidence

The case was led by Texas Ranger Charles Thomas “C.T.” Fox, Jr., a 14-year veteran, who was specially appointed to ensure impartiality due to a family connection between Corbell and employees of local law enforcement agencies. The investigation lasted over one year and involved extensive interviews and corroboration of evidence.

During the sentencing hearing, prosecutors presented compelling evidence of years of abuse:

  • Recorded Confession: A recorded interview in which Corbell detailed acts of abuse.
  • Victim Testimony: Testimony showed both victims were under the age of 14 when the assaults occurred, with the abuse continuing for several years. The first assault on one victim occurred around August 2015, and the assault on the second victim occurred around May 2020.
  • Third Allegation: The court also heard testimony from a third alleged victim, whose allegations dated back to the mid-1990s, though investigators focused on the two confirmed victims.

Victim Impact Statements and Judicial Rebuke

Both confirmed victims provided powerful testimony during the sentencing hearing.

  • Victim One, who is still a minor, testified that she broke a pact she had made with Victim Two to keep the abuse secret until after Corbell’s death. She explained that she broke the pact out of concern for her younger siblings, stating the truth needed to come out to stop the cycle of abuse.
  • Victim Two, now a young adult, described the lasting trauma and her ongoing efforts to rebuild her life.

Before formally imposing the consecutive sentences, Judge Hofmann addressed Corbell directly, rejecting his plea for mercy: “The defendant has asked for mercy, but he used that mercy over the last 10 years when he kept his crimes a secret, further damaging those he hurt. Justice now demands accountability.”

Corbell will serve a total of 50 years in TDCJ and is required to pay court costs and fees, including a Child Abuse Prevention fine and additional monthly sex offender’s fees.
