Investigation Underway in Fatal Hit-and-Run on Richmond Avenue

Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash in the 900 block of Richmond Avenue about 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 21.

A 50-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle while walking in the roadway. She was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead. Her identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

Police said the vehicle was traveling eastbound when it hit the woman. The driver did not stop.

Witnesses gave officers a description of the vehicle, which was later found parked in the 2900 block of South Shepherd Drive. It was identified as a blue Mercedes-Benz EQE 350. The driver was not located.
