Intoxicated Driver Assaults Deputy Following Major Crash in Spring

On January 28, 2024, deputies from Constable Mark Herman’s Office were dispatched to the 25500 block of Aldine Westfield Road in Spring, Texas, following a significant vehicle crash.

Upon their arrival, 36-year-old Jeffrey Johnson was identified as one of the involved drivers and exhibited multiple signs of intoxication.

Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were conducted, confirming Johnson’s state of intoxication.

During the arrest process, he became irate, resisted, and assaulted one of the deputies. Consequently, Johnson was taken into custody and later booked into the Harris County Jail. He is now facing charges of Driving While Intoxicated and Assault of a Police Officer.

Johnson’s bond has been set at $5,100.00 by the 209th District Court.
