HOUSTON, Texas – Detectives with the Constable Mark Herman’s Office Criminal Investigations Division received multiple tips about suspected illegal gambling activity at a business in the 11200 block of Louetta Road in northwest Harris County.

Following an undercover investigation, detectives confirmed that illegal gambling was taking place inside a gas station, where a portion of the business was being used to operate unlawful gaming activities. Investigators then obtained and executed a search warrant at the location.

During the operation, detectives seized more than $4,300 in suspected gambling proceeds, multiple illegal gambling devices, and documentation supporting the ongoing gambling operation. As a result, criminal charges were filed against 45-year-old Moiz Ali Maradia for Possession of Gambling Devices and Paraphernalia.

Authorities note that illegal gambling establishments often attract additional criminal activity and pose a serious risk to public safety. Constable Mark Herman emphasized that these operations undermine the peace and dignity of the State of Texas and that profits from illegal gambling are frequently tied to larger criminal enterprises.

“If you suspect an illegal gambling operation, please contact our dispatch at 281-376-3472 or submit a tip online,” Constable Herman said, adding that tips can be made anonymously at www.constablepct4.com/regulatory-enforcement-unit.

The investigation remains part of ongoing efforts by Precinct 4 to disrupt illegal activity and protect the surrounding community.
