Illegal Gambling Operation Busted in Spring Shopping Center, Constable Says

SPRING, Texas – Detectives with Harris County Constable Precinct 4 shut down an alleged illegal gambling operation in Spring after an undercover investigation uncovered gambling activity inside a concealed suite in a shopping center.
According to investigators, Constable Mark Herman’s Criminal Investigations Division received tips about illegal gambling occurring at a business in the 19300 block of the North Freeway.
Detectives said the investigation revealed the operation was being run inside a suite with tinted and covered windows, while the entrance door was secured using a real estate-style combination lock to make the location appear vacant.
Authorities obtained and executed a search warrant at the establishment.
During the raid, investigators seized more than $6,000 in suspected gambling proceeds, multiple illegal gambling devices, and documents allegedly connected to the operation.
Police said criminal charges were filed against game room attendant 35-year-old Aleyda Miranda for operating a gambling facility without a license or permit.
Investigators said illegal gambling establishments often attract additional criminal activity and can contribute to larger criminal enterprises.
Constable Herman encouraged residents to report suspected illegal gambling locations anonymously through the department’s dispatch line at 281-376-3472 or online reporting system.
