Humble Store Employee Fatally Shot in Pursuit of Thieves; Suspects At-Large

On Friday, January 19, 2024, at approximately 11:30 am, a tragic incident unfolded at the Sunoco Store located at Will Clayton and I-69 in Humble, Texas. Two black males wearing black hoodies entered the store and left with stolen merchandise.

A store employee, upon noticing the theft, pursued the suspects by getting into his vehicle. The pursuit took place on the store property, specifically on an access drive to Will Clayton. Unfortunately, during the pursuit, the suspects shot the store employee. Despite immediate response, the employee was pronounced deceased on the scene.

Humble Police are actively investigating the incident and are receiving assistance from Harris County Precinct 4 Constables in the search for the suspects. Constable Mark Herman reported a heavy police presence near the Will Clayton Eastex Fwy southbound ramp and the Eastex Fwy.

Constable Deputies and Constable K9 Units have joined forces with the Humble Police Department in the search for the murder suspects. As of now, this is the information available, and the investigation is ongoing.
