The victim, a 45-year-old woman, was found unresponsive in the driver’s seat of a vehicle outside a convenience store at the location. She had suffered at least one gunshot wound and was transported by paramedics to an area hospital, where she was pronounced deceased. Her identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

According to investigators, the woman had driven to the location with her husband, who was seated in the passenger seat, and two other family members in the back seat. After the husband entered the store, an employee asked him to leave. As he returned to the vehicle and it began to leave the parking lot, an unknown male fired shots into the vehicle, striking the victim. The vehicle rolled a short distance before stopping.

The husband exited the vehicle and ran from the scene, at which point a second male suspect fired shots at him. Neither the husband nor the two family members in the back seat were injured. Both suspects fled the scene on foot.

Authorities are urging anyone with information on the identities or whereabouts of the suspects to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or provide an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
