Houston Police Seek Three Males for Questioning in Fatal Fondren Road Shooting

Houston police have released surveillance photos of three black males in their 20s who are wanted for questioning in the fatal shooting of 28-year-old Benny VanRoss. The shooting occurred at approximately 10 p.m. on March 28th in the parking lot of a convenience store located at 9301 Fondren Road.
One of the males, described as wearing a black T-shirt, sweatpants with stripes, and a black ball cap, is considered a suspect in the shooting. The other two males, one wearing a white sweatshirt and the other wearing all black and eyeglasses, are considered persons of interest who may have information about the incident.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives D. Lunceford and J. Jorsch reported that officers found Mr. VanRoss unresponsive with a gunshot wound and that Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene. Their investigation indicates that the three males being sought were possibly involved in or witnessed the shooting.
