Houston Police Seek Person of Interest After Deadly Shooting of Teen and Car Theft

Houston police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a person of interest in connection with a shooting that left a 17-year-old male dead and an 18-year-old male injured at 3403 Simsbrook Drive on December 11 at approximately 8:40 p.m.
Officers arrived at the parking lot location to find the 17-year-old unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene. The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences is working to verify the victim’s identity.
A second victim, an 18-year-old male, sustained a gunshot wound and was transported to a nearby hospital in stable condition.
Investigators determined that the incident stemmed from an argument between a witness, who was a friend of the victims, and a suspect. During the altercation, the suspect opened fire on the victims and fled the scene in a vehicle belonging to one of them. The stolen vehicle was later recovered nearby, but the suspect had already fled.
At this time, no description of the suspect has been provided.
Detectives are seeking to identify a male person of interest who may have information about the incident. A photo of the individual has been released to the public.
Anyone with information regarding the identity of the person of interest or details about this case is urged to contact the Houston Police Department Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or submit tips anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
