Houston Police Investigate Fatal Shooting of 17-Year-Old

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old male found on the service road of 1635 North Loop West (North Interstate Highway 610 West) at approximately 11:10 p.m. last Friday, August 23.

The victim’s identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

According to HPD Homicide Division Detectives K. Clark and M. Nicotra, HPD patrol officers responded to a welfare check call at Memorial Hermann Greater Heights Hospital. They discovered the male suffering from a gunshot wound, and he was pronounced dead by doctors at the hospital.

Officers learned that the victim was transported to the hospital by an individual in a private vehicle. Investigators have since interviewed the driver and a passenger of the vehicle.

The investigation is ongoing, and no motive or suspects have been identified.
