Houston Police Investigate Fatal Shooting in Southbelt/Ellington Area
The Houston Police Department is currently investigating the fatal shooting of a 25-year-old man that occurred on Monday, October 16, at approximately 1:25 p.m. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
Officers from the Houston Police Department were dispatched to the scene following a shooting call in the parking lot of a business located at 10601 Fuqua Street. Upon their arrival, they discovered the victim, who had sustained gunshot wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim and a family member had been confronted by two suspects during a business transaction dispute. The suspects have been described as two black males. They allegedly assaulted both the victim and the family member. One of the suspects produced a firearm and shot the victim multiple times. Following the shooting, the suspects fled the scene in a vehicle.
