Houston Police Investigate Fatal Shooting in Independence Heights
The Houston Police Department is actively investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Thursday, December 7, at approximately 4:30 p.m. The incident took place at 4300 Rogers Street in Independence Heights (Northside).
Upon receiving a shooting call in the area, officers promptly responded to the scene and discovered a 35-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds in the roadway. Emergency services were immediately summoned, and paramedics transported the victim to Ben Taub General Hospital. The man was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The identity of the victim is currently pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
Authorities are seeking information about the suspect, described as a black male. The suspect was reportedly seen driving a silver or gray hatchback of unknown make and model.
The investigation is ongoing.
