Houston Police Investigate Fatal Shooting at Southmore Boulevard Motel
Authorities in Houston are currently investigating a fatal shooting that took place at the Southmore Boulevard Motel, located at 3528 Southmore Boulevard, on Sunday, October 15, at approximately 11:10 p.m.
The identity of the deceased male is yet to be disclosed, pending notification to his family by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
The incident unfolded when officers were called to the motel in response to reports of a shooting. Upon arrival at the scene, they discovered the victim unresponsive on the second-floor balcony. Houston Fire Department paramedics assessed the situation and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
Further inquiry by the authorities has revealed that the victim had encountered a suspect, described solely as a black male. A confrontation ensued between the two, which ultimately escalated to physical violence. During the altercation, the suspect produced a firearm and discharged it, resulting in the victim’s fatal injuries. Subsequently, the suspect fled the scene in an unknown direction.
