Houston Police Investigate Fatal Pedestrian Crash on Old Spanish Trail in South Side

Authorities are investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Saturday, November 25, at approximately 7 p.m. The incident took place at 3900 Old Spanish Trail in the South Side.

The victim has been identified as 54-year-old Carol Coleman who was fatally injured while attempting to cross Old Spanish Trail, not in a crosswalk, near the mentioned address. Ms. Coleman was struck by a gray Mercedes GLA 350 traveling eastbound at the time.

Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported Ms. Coleman to Ben Taub General Hospital. She was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

The female driver of the Mercedes, also 54, remained at the scene following the collision. Authorities have determined that she was not impaired. The driver was questioned and subsequently released. The investigation into the circumstances of the crash is ongoing.
