Houston Police Discover Stabbed Woman in Car’s Backseat After Citizen Chasing the Vehicle Calls for Help

Charges have been filed against a suspect in connection with the stabbing of a woman in the 5100 block of North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) on Thursday, October 19, at around 8:55 p.m.

The suspect, identified as James L. Farmer, 47, is facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 338th State District Court. As of now, a booking photo of Farmer is not available for release as he remains hospitalized.

The victim, a 34-year-old woman, was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. The Houston Police Department (HPD) received a call from a concerned citizen who was following a vehicle reported to have an unconscious and injured woman along with a male suspect inside at the same address. HPD patrol officers promptly responded to the call.

Upon locating the vehicle along the 18800 block of the North Freeway, the officers conducted a traffic stop and detained Farmer, who was driving the vehicle. They found the injured woman in the back seat with multiple stab wounds and immediately provided assistance until Houston Fire Department paramedics arrived. The paramedics then transported her to the hospital.

Further investigation revealed that Farmer appeared to be impaired and had possibly ingested an unknown narcotic substance. As a result, he was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was consulted, and following their review, Farmer was subsequently charged for his involvement in the incident. The case is now pending in the 338th State District Court.
