Houston Man Busted: Month-Long Robbery Spree Ends in Pearland Chase
Eric Vaughn Gibson II

After a month-long hunt, Pearland Police have arrested a suspect believed to be behind a series of armed robberies across the area. Eric Vaughn Gibson II, from Houston, was caught last night (June 24) after a coordinated effort by several law enforcement agencies and a chase that ended in Friendswood.

Gibson is suspected of committing multiple robberies, including:

  • May 19, 2025: Shell Station at 12825 Shadow Creek Parkway, Pearland
  • June 12, 2025: Buc-ee’s at 11151 Shadow Creek Parkway, Pearland

The Chase and Arrest

The investigation wrapped up last night around 9:00 p.m. when Gibson allegedly committed another robbery at the Chevron gas station at 17230 Highway 6 in Manvel, Texas. As he tried to get away, officers started chasing his vehicle. The pursuit went through Pearland on Broadway and into Friendswood.

Gibson’s getaway attempt ended when his vehicle crashed and became undrivable. He then tried to escape on foot through a nearby neighborhood. The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Air Support played a key role here, tracking Gibson from the air and giving real-time updates to officers on the ground. Police from various agencies quickly set up a perimeter and closed in.

Pearland Police K9 Bowie was deployed and tracked Gibson to a backyard. As Gibson tried to jump a fence to get away, he landed right in front of waiting officers and was taken into custody without a struggle.

Charges Filed

Gibson was taken to the Pearland Jail, where he was questioned by investigators. He will face the following charges:

  • Five counts of Aggravated Robbery (two in Pearland, one in Manvel, and two within Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office jurisdiction)
  • Felon in Possession of a Firearm
  • Evading Arrest with a Vehicle

The Pearland Police Department thanked the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO), and Friendswood Police Department for their help in safely catching Gibson.

This is still an active investigation.
