Houston Man Arrested in April Fort Bend County Murder Case

Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office (FBCSO), with help from the Gulf Coast Violent Offender Task Force, has arrested Elton Jones Gainza, 36, for murder.

The arrest comes after the discovery of a deceased male, identified as 29-year-old Yoandris Bistel Rodriguez, on April 26, 2024, at around 6:15 am in the 25500 block of Fulshear Gaston Road, Richmond, Fort Bend County, Texas. Rodriguez had suffered gunshot wounds.

Investigations revealed that Rodriguez was stalked by Gainza and was shot on Fulshear Gaston Road. Gainza, a resident of Houston, Texas, was apprehended with a murder arrest warrant issued by the Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office. His bond is set at $500,000.

Sheriff Eric Fagan commented, “This was such a senseless act that claimed the life of a member of our community. Such violence shakes the very foundation of our sense of safety and unity.”
