Houston Dispensary Owner Killed During Robbery; Suspect Charged with Capital Murder

HOUSTON, TX – A 21-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the fatal shooting of a 44-year-old man during a robbery late Friday night in northwest Houston.
Adan Garcia is charged with capital murder in the 486th Criminal District Court.
According to the Houston Police Department, officers responded to a robbery call at 8650 North Houston Rosslyn Road around 11:55 p.m. on February 13. When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene.
The victim has been identified as Fernando Gallardo, 44. Gallardo was the co-owner of the dispensary Daze Elevated, which he operated with his brother.
Authorities said Gallardo’s vehicle was missing from the scene. Patrol officers later located the vehicle nearby and conducted a traffic stop. Garcia, who was driving the vehicle, was detained.
After further investigation, homicide detectives consulted with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office. Garcia was formally charged, arrested, and booked into the Harris County Jail.
The investigation remains ongoing.
