Houston 21-Year-Old Woman Arrested for Shooting During Domestic Dispute

A suspect has been apprehended in connection with a shooting incident that occurred at 8162 Richmond Avenue on Wednesday, March 6th, around 1:20 p.m. Laniyah E. Decembly, 21, has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 230th State District Court.

The victim, a 22-year-old woman, was taken to a nearby hospital and is reported to be in stable condition. According to authorities, the victim and Decembly had been in a dating relationship for several months before recently ending it.

Reports suggest that the altercation ensued when the victim went to Decembly’s residence and attempted to engage in a physical confrontation. Allegedly, the victim began striking the front door and eventually broke a window with a brick. In response, Decembly fired a shot through the window, hitting a parked vehicle nearby. Decembly then emerged from her residence with a gun and pursued the victim, firing at her at least two more times. The victim sustained a gunshot wound to her hand.

Emergency services, including the Houston Fire Department paramedics, responded to the scene promptly and transported the victim to the hospital for medical attention. Decembly was apprehended at the scene and subsequently charged by the Harris County District Attorney’s Office for her involvement in the shooting.
