House Fire in The Greater Heights Area, One Injured

On December 3, 2023, at 4:48 p.m., firefighters responded to a house fire in the 1200 block of W. 21st St. in The Greater Heights Area.

Upon arrival within six minutes, firefighters discovered smoke emanating from the residence. Swiftly initiating an offensive attack, they located a small fire and promptly extinguished it. Crews proceeded to ventilate the smoke from the premises, conducting salvage and overhaul operations.

The estimated value of the property saved is $235,000, while the damage is estimated at $30,000. The cause of the fire is reported to be unintentional.

In the course of the incident, one civilian was transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation. A total of 35 personnel responded to the emergency, including firefighters from Stations 11, 31, 15, and 62.
