Homeowner’s Father, Off-Duty Officer Shoot Suspect in Magnolia

A shooting at a residence in Magnolia on February 24, 2025, resulted in a suspect being hospitalized after being shot by a homeowner’s father and an off-duty Houston Police Department officer.
Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a shooting report in the 15000 block of Knotty Oaks at approximately 11:20 p.m. and found a male had been shot multiple times by the homeowner.
The investigation revealed that an unknown male appeared at the residence and refused to leave. Feeling threatened, the homeowner contacted her father and a neighbor for assistance. The neighbor, an off-duty HPD officer, and the homeowner’s father, a retired HPD officer, shot the suspect due to ongoing threats.
Deputies and the homeowners provided life-saving measures, and the suspect was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Detectives from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Homicide and Violent Crimes Unit, along with Crime Scene Investigators, the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, and representatives from the Houston Police Department, are conducting an investigation.
