Sergeant Brown provided update on the shooting

On Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at approximately 3:00 AM, Harris County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a shooting call at an apartment in the 200 block of Uvalde Road in the Cloverleaf area. Upon arrival, deputies discovered that a male suspect had forced his way into an apartment, prompting a shootout between the intruder and the residents, a male and a female, both of whom were armed. Despite multiple shots being exchanged inside the apartment, no one inside was injured.

The suspect fled the scene after the exchange of gunfire, but deputies later found an approximately 35-year-old white male in the apartment complex alley, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. Surveillance video from the area revealed that the suspect, who had been involved in the home invasion, shot the deceased male before attempting the break-in.

At this time, it remains unclear why the victim was shot, as police do not believe he was involved in the home invasion. Investigators are working to determine whether the shooting was a random act or if the victim knew the suspect. The homeowners are being interviewed to provide further details on the incident.
