High-Speed Pursuit Ends in Arrest on Katy Freeway

On December 20, 2023, deputies from Constable Mark Herman’s Office conducted a traffic stop in the 12230 block of the Katy Freeway. The situation escalated when the driver of the vehicle refused to comply, initiating a high-speed pursuit that reached speeds of 117 mph. Despite the initial chase, deputies lost sight of the suspect.

However, diligent efforts led deputies to the registered address of the vehicle in West Houston, near Nottingham Park. There, they successfully located and detained the suspected driver. The individual was identified as Xaviera Campbell, a 41-year-old resident.

Campbell was subsequently arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail and charged with Evading in a Motor Vehicle.
