Raymonte Holmes

A suspect was arrested on March 18, 2025, after fleeing a minor vehicle accident and attempting to evade arrest. Deputies with the Harris County Constable Pct. 3 responded to the crash scene in the 14100 block of E. Sam Houston Parkway North, where the victim reported that the male passenger of the striking vehicle had fled on foot while carrying bags toward a nearby business.

Minutes after the initial call, deputies located a man matching the description behind a business. The suspect was identified as 29-year-old Raymonte Holmes. Upon questioning, Holmes admitted to his involvement in the accident and confirmed the bags were his. However, as deputies noticed a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the bags, Holmes attempted to flee into a nearby wooded area.

A perimeter was quickly set up, and K-9 units, along with Drone and Air Support, were deployed. After an extensive search, Holmes was located in a boggy area deep within the woods. Deputies recovered a Glock 23 firearm and 234 grams of marijuana from his possession.

Holmes, a convicted felon, was charged with felony evading arrest, possession of marijuana, and felon in possession of a firearm. He was transported to the Harris County Jail where he was booked without further incident. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office has accepted the charges.
