Harris County Deputies Searching for Escaped Inmate Released in Error
UPDATE: Dugas has been captured in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The U.S. Marshals Service Florida/Caribbean Regional Fugitive Task Force made the arrest.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is actively searching for 36-year-old Troy Dugas after he was mistakenly released from jail on Sunday, August 17, at 4:30 p.m.
Dugas was scheduled to begin serving a five-year state prison sentence for assaulting a family member in Fort Bend County, as well as a two-year sentence for evading arrest in Brazoria County.
Authorities describe Dugas as a Black male, approximately 6’1” tall and weighing 215 pounds.
Deputies urge anyone who sees Dugas to call 911 immediately.
