Gunfire Erupts in West El Paso: Multiple Victims and Arrest in Morning Shooting Incident
On Monday morning, January 29, 2024, at approximately 9:48 A.M., authorities received a call reporting a man firing a rifle outside a neighborhood situated in the 7800 block of Enchanted Ridge in West Texas.
According to ongoing investigations, the suspect, identified as 44-year-old Raymundo Guerrero Jr., initiated gunfire with a handgun inside his residence. A 42-year-old female victim fled the home during the incident. Subsequently, Guerrero emerged armed with a rifle, firing shots at multiple residences in the neighborhood.
The situation escalated when a 41-year-old male victim, driving through the area, was targeted by Guerrero’s gunfire. The victim sustained injuries and was promptly provided first aid by a neighbor. He was later transported to a local hospital and is currently in critical but stable condition.
Guerrero proceeded to assault a 65-year-old male and a 60-year-old female at their residence before disrobing and attempting to escape. However, police apprehended him as he tried to re-enter his residence.
Guerrero is facing eight charges:
- Aggravated Assault with a deadly weapon – Bond: $100,000.00
- Aggravated Assault with a deadly weapon – Bond: $250,000.00
- Injury to Elderly – Bond: $30,000.00
- Class A Assault – Bond: $5,000.00
- Deadly Conduct – Bond: $50,000.00
- Deadly Conduct – Bond: $50,000.00
- Deadly Conduct – Bond: $50,000.00
- Deadly Conduct – Bond: $50,000.00
The case is scheduled to be heard by Judge Aun.
