Galveston High-Speed Chase End in Crash and Arrest of Young Man

On February 1, 2024, the La Marque Police Department engaged in a pursuit after attempting a traffic stop on IH 45 in La Marque. The driver, identified as 20-year-old Adrian Gannon from Galveston, evaded the police at high speed, heading southbound on IH 45 toward Galveston. During the pursuit, Gannon threw contraband out of the vehicle window.

The chase continued until Gannon’s vehicle collided with a tractor-trailer at the intersection of 59th Street and Broadway in Galveston. Following the crash, Gannon was apprehended and transported to UTMB Health to receive treatment for injuries sustained during the collision.

Officers collected discarded contraband, including narcotics and a handgun, that Gannon had thrown from the vehicle.

Gannon faces charges of Evading Arrest with a Vehicle and Tampering with Physical Evidence, both felony offenses. He was booked into the Galveston County Jail on a $30,000 bond. Gannon has since been released after posting bail.
