Galveston County Sheriff Raids Illegal Massage Parlors, Arrests One in Human Trafficking Investigation

The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) has successfully raided two illegal massage parlors suspected of involvement in human trafficking, resulting in one arrest.

The operation, conducted in collaboration with the Organized Crime Task Force, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), Galveston County District Attorney’s Office, and Unbound, targeted Royal Thai Massage in League City and Leela Thai Massage in Houston.

Detectives gathered intelligence through surveillance, interviews, and undercover operations, revealing that the businesses were operating as fronts for prostitution-related activities. Search warrants were executed at the two massage parlors and a suspect’s apartment in Houston.

As a result of the raids, Ying Qiu Yang Brown, 57, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Promotion of Prostitution. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending for other individuals involved.

The GCSO emphasized its commitment to protecting vulnerable individuals and bringing justice to those involved in human trafficking, highlighting the importance of community awareness and law enforcement collaboration.
